Robert M. Anderson, CPCU
Bob Anderson is a seasoned insurance executive who provides services in insurance litigation consulting and expert witness testimony in disputes involving agents and brokers errors and omissions, coverage issues, and customs and practices in the insurance industry. Bob has worked with Interisk for nearly 10 years and has broad experience in all lines of property and casualty insurance, as well as fidelity, life, and accident and health. Bob is committed to providing the highest level of services and enjoys working with attorneys in the early stages of an engagement, partnering with them to develop the optimum insurance coverage strategy. He works with both plaintiff and defense counsel, serving as an expert witness and assisting attorneys in reaching settlement of claims without having to proceed to expensive discovery or trial phases of litigation.
Bob has a wide range of entrepreneurial and technical insurance experience. He began his career as a casualty underwriter for Pacific Indemnity Company (Chubb) and later for Industrial Indemnity Company. Bob also served as president, chief executive officer, and chairman of the board of well-known Anderson & Anderson Insurance Brokers. Over nearly 30 years, he built Anderson & Anderson from a four-person company to the fifth largest brokerage firm in California using state-of-the-art computerized marketing programs and concepts. In partnership with Security Pacific Bank, Anderson & Anderson created workers compensation programs for bank customers and wrote more than $20 million in premiums for 90 large corporate customers. At the time of its sale to AON Corporation, Anderson & Anderson maintained offices in Irvine, Glendale, and Stockton, and was the largest employee benefits operation in Orange County.
As an entrepreneur, Bob evaluates prospects of new business as both a capital investor and principal. He has served as senior general partner for Beneventure Capital, and is chairman and owner of AFA Technologies, Inc., a software company for large-scale database integration for disparate healthcare financial institution resource databases.
Bob also serves on the board of directors of corporations and local charitable organizations. His current board positions include Hampton Products International and Fuller Theological Seminary. Bob previously held board positions with Paula Financial and PacRim Holdings, as well as St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and New Directions for Women.
Bob attended Claremont McKenna College, and completed the Harvard Business School’s owner/president management program. He earned his CPCU (chartered property casualty underwriter) designation in 1970 from the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters, Inc.
